The Resident Evil series is a pretty stellar choice but even though I love them, there's one ps1 game that owns all others...METAL GEAR SOLID!!! forget all your Crash Bandicoots, Lara Crofts and Cloud Strifes(close 2nd), Snake was the daddy!

That game was genius!

In fact the whole series is, I can't wait for the 4th...only a month to go!

PS1 games that I played and wasted my earlier years.

MDK - fast and furious for most of the time(some sniping)
Final Fantasy 7 - long and great story with many mini games
Alien (as in the film) - dark and gory FPS
Tomb Raider - puzzler, platformer and shooter all in one (music was good especially in the Cistern)

Tomb Raider 1 FTW. The Cistern was always one of my favourite levels too :)

I've been playing the remake (TR Anniversary) on my PC, and it's very purdy and impressive, and I love the new engine, but trying to control Lara on a keyboard is just plain annoying!

I understand how frustrating that is. I bought the latest incarnation of Tomb Raider on the Xbox360 and even with the gamepad the camera angles swing around so often that jumping the wrong way is a recurring event. Grrr

I bought a PS2 style gamepad for my PC for exactly that reason. 8)

I have one ordered now - best to sort the problem out than sit complaining and getting frustrated

Hooray! No more looking for the right key when I need to fire the silly bint's grappling hook in mid jump!

That said, I was getting quite good with keyboard, but I got stuck on some stupid timed obstacle course shenanigans in one of the later levels just through the sheer lack of intuitive control :x
