Not my problem if your base isn't secure ;)

Fort Jackolas is impenetrable!

Uh oh...

Lee, are you able to rain on? This fire is spreading and I can't contain it. We're not sure how it started, but it's heading the the direction of everyone's stuff.

Ok, something is definitely wrong with this fire. It is not actually consuming anything. The foliage and wood of the trees is just staying where it is and continually burning.
As a result, it just keeps spreading and spreading without burning itself out. The extent of the fire is causing lag.
Even when it rains and puts a lot of it out, there are sheltered bits of fire under the trees that are not being put out, so as soon as the rain stops, the whole fire just spreads again. All I've been able to do all day is contain bits of it and put fractionally small areas out, but it's spreading faster than I can work.

I'm pretty sure this is not how it is supposed to work. Do we know of any bugs in Tekkit that would have caused this?

I agree! It's not right! It also seems to ignore water being poured onto it sometimes

I have checked round most of everyone's stuff and it is all still a long way away from the fire. I didn't manage to check Julia's place though, as the general advice of everyone was to just log off and I figured I should do that sooner rather than later.

Moved right away from the fire area and logged off now to prevent the game engine from running and spreading it further (I hope that's how it works anyway).

Nothing I can do about it short of deleting the world. We have suffered some world corruption due to the way I was shutting down the server. I have changed this process so it shouldn't get worse or re occur if we restart.

There was nothing I was particularly precious about in this world - I did sort of see it as one in which to just mess about and learn all the new stuff with everyone else.

I too vote for a new world.

Ok, emergency bunker set up just east of the spawn point, for everyone's convenience.

I'm liking this new map - it has lots of plains and coastal cliffs. Only problem was, no rubber trees for MILES. But I have done the hard trek and found and planted 3 saplings at the bunker.
