I have taken over the IKRPG Game that Jack was going to run in order to give him a chance to have a crack at playing. It's the first RPG I've played/run in just over a decade so I'm still getting into the swing of things however I've been frantically plotting, scripting and tweaking pacing on the first adventure & I think i'm about there. All thats left is to meet my players and have a chat about characters and such. I know Jack has been involved in genning characters and such so i think we are 90% of the way there. What I'd like to propose are the following:-
1) I have a hand out for all players to outline where we are in the IK Timeline, whats happening and a few of the major background bits for players that haven't played in the IK world before. Nothing too heavy but theres a map showing where you are and whats around you and the major geographical/political points that your characters would all be aware of. I'm at club next week so will have them with me. I'll leave them with Jack as I know it can be difficult to swing by just for that.
2) If possible i'd like to chat to each of you (PM is fine if easier) about your character. I'm after background, goals, motivations and the like & I will award bonuses to each character for taking the time to do this. I like to do this as it gives me a better understanding of each character and to tailor aspects of the metaplot to each player.
3) If anyone wants help genning a character let me know and I'll help with that (either one to one or as a character gen session which ever suits), once all the characters are generated we can sort out your adventuring company details)

Player wise I think we currently have
Jack
Bigmaddrongo
Helios
Altair-the-Vexed
Daremonai

If anyone else is interested in playing your more than welcome, the first adventure will take 1-2 Sessions depending on player choices and I've designed it to be not too heavy on IK Lore to allow everyone to get used to their characters so it would be a perfect jump on point. How we go from here is up to players, if everyone has their characters we can start planning first session or we can have a meet up to chat about any the game and finish any characters off.

Thanks Adam, and welcome back to the wonderful world of GMing! ;)

The situation with me is that I have started a character and got as far as stats, feats and class/profession choices but that's about it. So I need help finishing her off. Not sure but I think Alastair's character was mostly done, I'll let him confirm.

Alastair and I are away from 16th - 28th June, and because of work, Alastair often cannot say very far in advance when he is going to be available, but he will do his best. The good news is, I have no such commitments, so if he is available then so am I, generally speaking.

I've got a basic concept, need to finish off stats and gear and flesh out the background a little.

I am potentially not available at the club all month (trying to avoid this though) and then I'm sort of busy from July-October but should be about for club nights more often than not.

Thanks to Jack for helping with that and thanks for the backgrounds. I'll finish off looking through them this evening. With regard to the handouts thanks to a broken printer they won't be ready for tomorrow but i'll get them to you all ASAP.
From a start date point of view I'm happy to start when everyone is ready and free. I can do most nights of the week to suit as I have no gaming commitments currently and work is hopefully looking alittle more settled for a while meaning I can control my own diary again.

Right I have read the rules on adventuring parties and as I understand so far we have the following pc's

Bounty hunter/Investigator

Duelist/Aristocrat

Trencher/Military Officer

Field Mechanic/Military Officer

Ninja pete/something magicAl


With this in mind we qualify for the following adventuring parties

Arcane Order

Anyone can belong to this company. Any characters with the gifted archetype are full numbers. Any others are considered guards or servants (basically we only qualify as ninja was talking about bing magical. We would effectively work for him to an extent)

Benefits: the company begins the game with a small guild house that includes servants quarters,stable,SPAM LINK,great hall,meeting room,member bedchambers,guest rooms, arcane library and alchemical workshop


Intrepid investigators

Each member must have one of the following- alchemist,arcane mechanic,arcanist,aristocrat,explorer,investigator,military officer,priest or spy.

The company is able to seek funding for its activities from a university,financial backers or private donations.

Benefits- 100gc per month for upkeep and equipment. The bonus that intellectual characters give to party members (+1 on attack and damage) can go to +2 if there are two intellectual characters.



Mercenary Charter

Any character- need to nominate a captain. The caption picks a treasurer and lieutenant.

Benefits- captain giants natural leader ability. Every other member gets on additional skill form the following list- animal handling,command,driving,gambling,interrogation,medicine,negotiation or riding.







I personally like mercenary charter. Loads of room for customisation.
