Myself and Adam are contemplating going halves on the starter box for this, just for some interesting figures to paint and a lighthearted fun game of soldiers.

I played flames of war for years, and enjoyed that and ww2 is a really interesting historical period in my opinion.

Has anyone played it?

No but it looked good on the warlord games day. Interested to see how it goes.

Watched a demo game on the beasts of war YouTube page, looks great.

I just bought some Fallschirmjager (I played them for years in flames of war)

And Adam has got some rangers!

We're playing a very spaced out WW2 narrative campaign at the club and used Point Blank for the first scenario but looking to make it a bit bigger and include a tank or two in game two so will probably use Bolt Action so will see how it goes, reads ok but not tried yet. Only concern is they do activations by full squads, when it would really make more sense to do things by half squads at this scale so you have separate fire and manoeuvre sections - it's doable but seems odd the rules don't default towards this.

That's quite a good point actually.

I think it's really just designed to be a chilled out skirmish game.

I just fancy playing proper soldiers, and I think this is the system to do that

The perspective on that could make it 28mm or 6mm, it's like some sort of freaky illusion!

The smoothed camo lines look good.

Added some camo netting.

Needs to dry over night before I can paint more.

Then it's some dirt and I'm done
