OK so been quite a while since I've been to the board game club and even longer since playing in the blood bowl league.
(Work issues, new baby, trying to get fit... excuse, excuse, excuse)
I purchased some Frostgrave stuff, the Malifaux SE2 starter set along with some basic terrain when Battlefieldhobbies opened to support the shop however it all just sat on the shelf due to other commitments and basically:
a. Not really knowing where to start
b. Indecision regarding which warband members to build (once they're glued they're glued)
c. A complete fear of assembling/painting the miniatures
d. Other than the kids who was still playing the game
I used to play Warhammer fantasy battle and a bit of Battletech in my youth (never painted anything other than a couple of dwarves to use in WFRPG). Also enjoyed a couple of games of fireballforward at MJ's (didn't really have a clue what I was doing though). A couple of games of X-Wing vs Tie fighter.
So seriously thinking of getting into the tabletop stuff what with the store being in Daventry, having tournaments etc. Getting a bit bored of solo/kids boardgaming
Basically asking what are people actively playing and any room for effectively a newbie to learn the ropes and join in? Wouldn't mind some miniatures painting help too...
