You'll have to post a piccie of the horses, because I'm looking at mine and can't really visualise the problem, it doesn't seem to be a problem with mine - you've got the ears at the top right :D

In terms of forces, they really don't need to be balanced, and most games you'll pay in a scenario way, most often some manner of inequality, I don't think I've yet played a game of any warlord system using the points system (although we have looked roughly afterwards out of curiosity), so a few extra firelocks won't make or break anything.

My horses were fine so can't really help. I'm happy with that force, firelocks are on the painting table and cavalry are being built now.
