Now that my Germans are done, I decided a while ago to make an allied force.

My Great Grandad was a SGT in the 5th Gurkha rifles that fought in Italy and then Burma.

So, my plan is to research them and create a historically accurate force based around the history of my old Grandad.

Will get some more details up later.

Not only is that a great way to theme a new army but also a lovely way of 'honouring' what he did for his country. A lovely way to personalise an army. Look forward to seeing this develop Jack! :D

Hq and assistant

Artillery observer

4 squads of 10 mean. 8 riflemen plus a Bren gun and loader.

At this stage, I'm not planning on taking a tank of any sort.

The 5th seem to have been supported by the Indian armoured brigade who were primarily equipped with Grant or Stuart.

However I'm looking for more of jungle fighting force, I'm bit gonna bother.

Can't fit a tank in the jungle....

My grandad was an RMP in burma during the war and he had his own apc for getting around the jungle making sure those gurka's stayed in line! :lots of love: so im sure you can get a tank in the jungle!

Bit of an update.

The Gurkhas are done, excluding basing. This is delayed by the late arrival of my super cheap aquarium plants coming from Hong Kong that I'm planning to use on my bases.

I also bought the Perry ministers desert rates box, with the plan to use them as Chindits.

I must say, the perry box is a bargain.

For £18 you get 38 dudes.

I have made 3x10 man squads, a mortar team and an anti tank rifle team so far
