Hi everyone. Long time no posts! :lots of love:

I'm looking for some advice and recommendations for board games really. It came up at a recent parent's evening that my nine year old lad my be dyslexic. He's currently working with a specialist during school and though nothing has been confirmed I'd like to try and help him out as much as I can. He's not rally a big reader and shows little interest in reading books (unless they're Minecraft related!) so I'm looking for games that involve a little reading (cards, etc) and a little maths maybe, but are also fairly easy to learn and don't take too long to play. I've had a look on boardgamegeek and a few other sites but there's sooo much out there it's a little hard to narrow it all down.

Any help and advice would be greatly received! :D

While not specifically a board game, I used magic the gathering to get my boy reading when he was less than keen, might be worth a little look

The two player duel decks for Magic are a good shout Sparky.

I'd also recommend Summoner Wars which is a little more self contained and finished as a game straight out of the box.

These are pretty quick 15-30 minute round games too.

If you're looking for something as a family, Mice and Mystics is a good shout - solid but straightforward dungeon crawl with a super strong narrative and full co-op play. The episodic nature of the story means you can do it in bite sized chunks too.

Memoir '44. My 7 year old loves it. Basic language skills to read cards, some basic maths to work out variable numbers of dice, and some memory/matching of symbols to effects on the dice.
