Greetings, one and all.

For those that don't know me, my name is Phil, or Purplegoo, and for the past couple of years, I've been England Blood Bowl captain.

Part of my plan as skipper has been to try and widen the church of English BB and try and include everyone as a wider community and try to get people switched on and excited about what, I think, is the biggest and best BB event of the year (Vault Bowl apart - of course ;)).

I've been joining league forums from across the country to try and reach as many people as possible, and I'm sorry to say for some reason I've not been able to register here before, no doubt I'm a technoidiot and it's my fault, but I'm here now, and glad to see the forum thriving. :)

This year, the Eurobowl / Eur Open will be in Belgium (Ostend) on the weekend of the 8th / 9th November. Team England has been selected, and the eight of us are ready to do our best to retain the crown for the community! The Eur Open, the sister event, as it were, is this year a three man team event. We already have three English teams registered and raring to go, meaning we're at 17 men travelling across the channel already, which is really terrific, a record.

I've been to the last three runnings of the Brass Bowl event in Ostend, and I can tell you the ferry over is cheap, the beer is phenomenal, and the Belgians are amazing hosts. I'd love to see a Vault team join in the fun, and I'm sure you'd really enjoy yourselves. This is a brilliant chance to come and do an amazing event on the cheap.

We have a website, teamengland.freeforums.org, and I'd love for you to come join us. We're talking shirts, rosters, travel, and generally getting ready to descend upon the Euros. Please feel free to ask any questions, and even if you know that you can't come join us in November, please come and join us on the forum and get in the spirit of the wider team England.

Cheers, and I hope to see you at an event soon. Might come to Vault, I need to sort my weekends. :)

Phil.

(I hope this is an OK bit of the forum to post in, by the way. Can't see it all yet until I'm vetted. ;))

Haha!

Thanks for the welcome. I know you have a BB section for me to post in, but I think I can't access it yet?

Next year, the Eurobowl and England take a year off because it's a NAF World Cup year. That will be amazing, and TE will be back in 2016.

Let's hope some great Vaulters fancy a drunken weekend in Ostend with the wider touring party. 150-200 Blood Bowlers + Belgian beer? What can go wrong?! ;)

Hi there.

Welcome and thank you for the post. Would be great to have the England captain at Vaultbowl V.

You should hopefully have full access soon and it would be great to have your opinions in some of our discussions and debates.

Hi TalonBay. The certainly is: http://www.createforum.com/teamscotlandbb/

The Scots have also selected their team for November. Tradition dictates the highest ranked team yet to host has the honour of hosting next time, so you never know, we may be in Scotland (or Wales) come 2016! There are some Scottish Eur Open teams forming too, so get stuck in! With new additions Norway, we might get upwards of 18 countries playing this year plus the Eur Open, so that is a fair few coaches plus Belgian beer. Not bad. ;)

Under 100 days to go until the big one. If you're still considering joining England's biggest ever touring party and sampling the best tournament going all year, join us on teamengland.freeforums, org for all of the important information.

All,

We're now near enough two months away from the off. This week we have had a team reshuffle due to unforeseen circumstances; Stanley (winkle_Picka) has made the good real life decision to stay at home, and Geoff (Podfrey) has come into the side from the reserve position. Wilzif will be the next call up should we hit any more problems.

With this reshuffle, a spot has opened up on the Eur Open Waterbowl team. If you've been eyeing up the brilliant trip to Belgium but couldn't decide to bite the bullet, here is a golden opportunity to play with some fine gentlemen in the greatest of all English league jerseys (or so those from Manchester say...). Contact Alex / Leipziger ASAP for how to join!

We're now taking England shirt orders for travelers over at teamengland.freeforums.org. If you're coming, get the 2014 England jersey! You can also follow all of the action via @TeamEnglandBB on Twitter when November rolls around.

Thanks!

Phil.

(I know this is slightly in the wrong place on this forum, but I'd like to continue to bring the Vault England BB news if possible! :))

We're finally almost there. This time next week, we'll be reflecting on the first day of play over a couple of quiet ales.

With a record 21 English coaches travelling to Ostend in one form or other to play in a bumper 264 coach event, it's going to be colossal.

Just as in 2013, you can follow all of the action as I turn @TeamEnglandBB over to the team for all of the up to date results, photos and assorted nonsense. It's the best place to follow the tournament from an English viewpoint as it happens, and then join us on teamengland.freeforums.org Monday week for all of the fallout.

See you on the other side!
