Having defeated the attacks of the desert invaders and their orcish cohorts, the Questers cautiously advance toward the camp of their enemy. As they approach, the loud beating of mighty wings is heard over the rustling of the reeds, and a large dark winged shape rises from the smoke of the camp and flies away into the setting sun...

The dead captain of the invaders had well made breastplate armour, a good longsword, a brass horn with which he sounded the alarm, and wears a belt marked with arcane runes about his middle.
His twenty troops all bore longbows, and ten of them carried a exotic long-hafted light halberd-like weapon.

The camp on the left bank is merely a few red and white canvas tents, and a roped area where two dozen horses are corralled, mangy and underfed.
Among the untidy tents and tatty packs of the invaders' camp, there are several dozen arrows for longbows, and a scattering of coins around the small cleared spot where some gambling seems to have been taking place - the ragged remains of a humanoid child or halfling in the ring indicates that grim fatal bloodsports were the source of the invaders' entertainment.

On the right bank, the orc camp is now deserted, and shows signs of hurried looting. After the fashion of orcs, their bivouacs are dug out and covered over with animal skins cammouflaged with reeds. There are few pickings among the litter of the orcish camp. Discarded gnawed bones seem to show that prisoners were not treated well by these creatures.

Tracks of a large clawed creature stand a little off from the orc's ditches - some talopn marks are only now filling with water from the wet ground, as though the claws that made them had only just left.

  • 120 gp, 1450 sp, 2350 cp
  • 6 dozen longbow arrows, 20 longbows, 10 "exotic halberds"
  • 20 suits of leather armour
  • Well-made breastplate armour
  • A good quality longsword
  • An interesting belt
  • 20 poor quality horses

Hmm. Just remembered I didn't pick any feats for being sixth. For either character :/

Anyway, back to the loot at hand.

The horses are fortuitous, despite them being in poor condition, as we need some beasts for our disguise. I suggest that we examine them all and figure out how many are going to stand up to travel. We should Cure as needed maybe? Find them some food in the cargo we've got and hope that we can find ten healthy horses - one mount each, plus one cargo horse per person.

We could use the tents etc. to fashion panniers to hold cargo on each cargo horse.

Benedict has no immediate interest in any of the armour or weapons, beyond grabbing a few arrows. He will suggest that we take all the usable kit though either to donate to the army (unlikely at this stage) or to use as additional cargo, perhaps forgoing some of the rotten food if we need to find the space.

If any of the desert clothing is not riddled with holes or soaked in blood I would suggest we grab various headcloths to help keep us cool on our journey.

As for the belt, it depends on what we think it is. I reckon, based on the hard hitting fighter, that it is a +ST belt of some sort. Benedict would benefit from greater strength, but only insofar as it makes it easier to carry extra kit and deal a couple extra points of damage - weapon finesse means that extra strength is unlikely to make a to-hit difference. Otherwise I would suggest it goes to one of the strength-centric characters, perhaps Imad as he is already well-laden with his armour although Eleanor and Fel would benefit equally well.

The coin can be divided evenly:
  • 24gp per person
  • 290sp per person
  • 470cp per person
Unless there are any objections?

If we are carrying on down river then lets loads the cargo onto the raft and walk the horses along the bank, accompanied by two people who aren't Imad due to his slow walking speed.

I would like this belt examined further before any of us try it on (lest it turns out to fill us with the urge to murder everyone in sight, along with any benefits it bestows...). Perhaps our wizard might have a better idea what these runes are going on about?

Edit: Heh - I seem to have found another a pointless word on the filter list...

OK, so we now have the following unclaimed loot added to the stash on the raft:
  • good longsword
  • unidentified belt
  • good breast plate
  • small long sword (magic)
  • heavy mace (magic)
  • potion

Benedict is holding in trust:
  • Jasper (appraised at 50gp)
  • Agate (appraised at 10gp)
  • Sapphire (appraised at 7-9000gp)

The total per person share of coinage (camp and dragon) is as follows:
  • 23.66PP
  • 136.33GP
  • 8551.33SP
  • 509.33CP

Ben will pocket his share of the PP and GP and find a suitable saddle bag for the remainder of the coin, so long as space can be found. Priority will be given to food and any other trade goods. Weapons and armour probably aren't worth taking as we're unlikely to find a suitable point at this stage to donate them to our army, so coinage is next priority!

Lanyssa is more than happy to donate the follwing of her share to Eleanors fund for new armour;
* 23PP
* 8551SP
* 509CP
She has no real need for your funny metal circles, but would like to keep some to help get her by for now. She is also happy for the weapons,armour & other equipment to be put in the saddlebags on Moonflower. He looks like a rather heavy horse of war when compared to those other mangy animals and as such I'm sure he wouldnt mind carrying that weight if all the other horses are encumbered with our masses of coin

Note: coinage updated to divide the spoils from the camp between six rather than five

I think Pathfinder makes identification different so we might be able to ID more.

Additional info from the desert tomb:
  • Eight brittle and ancient scrolls (In Chris' care)
  • A broken Vessel of Ka (Also in Chris' care)
  • Another belt, +2 Con if I remember correctly
  • 15 gemstones of 4-600gp value each

This gives approximately 1250gp worth of gemstone per person, added to the other gemstones this is an approximate total of 2680gp value per person.

Chris has the details that he discovered last night of the various magical items so I'll leave it to him to record those here.
