So far we have:
- Alastair as a level 8 Cleric
- B. Pete as level 1 Cleric and level 7 Monk
- Jack is a level 5 Barbarian and level 3 Dragon Rider
- N. Pete is playing a level 5 Ranger, level 2 Sorcerer and level 1 Warlock

The party lacks a glass cannon (High level Wizard).

Ok - I have a couple of ideas - thanks for that Nick!

In terms of XP, are we exactly at 8th level, or are we somewhere between 8th and 9th?

Apologises as I haven't actually clarified on this. You're exactly 8th level.

Edit: Just to mention you can do a 32 pt buy if you wish instead of rolling dice.

I'm pretty sure that it was Warlock 2/Sorceror 1, but it's on the character sheet anyway, so I'll find out later tonight. If anyone can help me come up with a decent moniker for this character I'd be grateful too - currently he's called "Niizaneim Kwaitbadlie"

As in "We each have exactly 28 000 xp available to us" or "No matter how much xp it takes, you have only enough to make it 8th level" ?
The point being that Wizards and other casters tend to make magic scrolls, potions, etc - and those cost xp.

I'd tend to avoid this question by paying full gold for any magic items that you might carry, otherwise you're potentially doubling the wealth-by-level limits which could be more than a touch unbalancing. I'd imagine that the loss of a level would be reasonably insignificant compared to 7000xp worth of crafted magic items.

Ok, I've gone for a wizard anyway - the stats are there, I've just got spell selection left to do tonight. :?

Could I ask the DM where we'll be starting, more specifically? It might become important for the general purpose spell preparations I'm planning on starting him off with...

To the north of Mundia is the town of Al-Herba. This is the starting location for the party.

Do you mean to the north of Gaultria? Mundia is the name of the world... ;)

Garble. Yes, north of Gaultria. I've been doing so much background stuff my brain is ready to implode due to lack of sleep.

Ahem - "...in the north of Gaultria..."

(Al-Hebra is on the eastern edge of Shielding of Ayre, in the dry and rugged foothills of the Storm Mountains, some few dozen leagues before the Dwarfland of Dryzlkraag.)

I'll change my choice then as was going for a wizard too. Two may be an overkill. Always fun to look at options though.

Well, we still need a sneaky skill monkey (ie something of the rogue variety) by the looks of things, so that might be a good gap to fill...

This is a surprise, actually, I had no idea you'd be in this game!

See you tomorrow!

I was a late addition. Looks like Elven Rogue for me.
