I'm sure that this can be tweaked a little further with software that is slightly more adept at fitting trend lines, but based on the Excel exponential trend line calculated for each XP prgoression per character level, the attached spreadsheet should be fairly accurate.

The first sheet shows the RAW figures compared to the rounded, predicted figures, and you will see that the difference between the two amounts is minimal. It may be that the figures need to be manually tweaked to reduce the oscillating differences to be closer to what WotC imagined, but I'm not going to manually amend 400 figures.

The second sheet is just the compiled table of predicted XP values for quicker reference, any changes made to the first sheet will update on the second sheet.

Spoiler! :
By my reeckoning, the CR17 creature that our 4th level party took out should net us in the region of 108000XP!

Agreed - that's about right.

Appears that the RAW rounds of to the nearest multiple of 25, so you should probably apply the same.

Looks like the party are about to get enough xp for 3 levels.

Revision 2 added to OP, now using MROUND rather than ROUND. I am learning new things today!

Version 2 displays #NAME? errors in all calculated cells.
I guess my company are too cheap to install the analysis packs for XL.

Could you do a version with cut and paste values, rather than formulae?

Salvation is just a click away: if you too see only #NAME? all over the sheets, go to Tools, select Add Ins, then tick Analysis ToolPak (assuming you're running MS XL and not some communist shareware version).
