Mentioned this to Alastair as a rough idea and he helped refine it slightly but if anyone else can pick a hole in it they can give it a bash.

Devastating Blow
Requirements - Base Attack Bonus: +8, Weapon Focus: Any Melee weapon, Greater Weapon Focus
A character becomes so adept at using the melee weapon to which he has applied Weapon Focus and Greater Weapon Focus that his attacks with that weapon can deal extra damage. With a successful attack before damage is rolled, he can spend one action point to deal +3d6 points of damage.

This is pretty much the Bullseye ability that 10th level Gunslingers get, hence the high requirements and please note that Greater Weapon Focus is a Gunslinger only ability but is a place holder for another feat which Alastair mentioned that I cannot remember (It adds +2 to a weapons damage I think) although I thought that Combat Martial Arts feat would go well here. The feat name is terrible too but hey-ho.

Any thoughts would be appreciated as I'm really starting to enjoy this homebrew stuff!

The feat is from 3.5 I think and it is called Weapon Specialisation. Assuming that D&D feats would be allowed in a D20Modern/Fusion game.

The only thing I would question is that in order to get the Bullseye ability of a Gunslinger, a character would have to be 13th level (three levels of a bsic class before taking all 10 levels in Gunslinger) but a strong hero could take this feat as soon as possible after 8th level. One possibility could be to nerf the damage dealt but up it as the character progresses in levels. E.g. when they first take it they deal +1d6, then two levels later it goes to +2d6 and two levels later it maxes out at +3d6.

I read this ages ago, and forgot to chip in - sorry.

To stick with the canon of d20 Modern, maybe you could replace the requirement for "Greater Weapon Focus" (which is essentially "Weapon Specialisation from D&D - which, as written, is available only to Fighters) with "Power Attack" & "Cleave".
This gives the feat a decent number of requirements (though you could get all of these feats at 1st level), all of which have good flavour reasons for being required, and are included in the core d20 modern rules.
