I've just found out some bad news, Gary Gygax, the creator of Dungeons & Dragons passed away this morning at the age of 69.

.....ok guys well aside from your differences of opinion on here....which I will sidestep let me te you that...

...I did meet him in the UK at the old GENCON's when he was able to get over. I didnt know him well but he was a very interesting, fascinating chap who was passionate about what he did.

I for one started playing in 1975 on photocopied original D&D rules from the States and it changed my life in many ways.

My vocabulary, the people I met through it, my reading matter, my sleep (or lack of it a weekend gaming sessions), my love of beer and pretzels!!!!

Anyhow I think he deserves respect and it is sad he passed away so early in his life. RIP E Gary Gygax.
