Warmahordes certainly seems in vogue at the moment as I took my troops over to Munson's house last night for another 3-way rumble against his Menoth and Matt's eButcher led Khador. Baldur finally got his hands on Kreoss but as in earlier games, there was something about the assassination that felt a bit hollow. The battle had very quickly descended into a slugfest between the Circle and Menoth as they both seemed eager to avoid the Butcher, this resulted in Matt having very little to do for the first couple of turns. Due to the high fatality rate when the Khador forces did arrive for the fun and games all that was left was Baldur, Llanyssa and the LotF for the the Circle and a bit of the Choir for the Menoth, game over as Khador mopped up.

Excellent hosting by Munson who even supplied biscuits this time  .

It was pBaldur night last night as I welcomed Brother Munson and Matt complete with pKreoss and pButcher respectively to the Forest of Shanger. I went with a 'living' beasts list of Pureblood, Stalker and Argus, with Stones, Llanyssa and the Lord of the Feast. The early turns were tough for Munson as it was obvious a secret pact had been struck between the Khador and Circle forces as they set about quickly wiping out the Menoth forces. Kreoss and his force understandably succumbing to the overwhelming numbers against them quickly. As with all these type of games it came down to Baldur vs Butcher, sadly for Baldur I activated my models in a poor order and the Butcher got his retaliation in and killed the bearded one.

Big highlights for myself were:

1) Argus - slowly but surely I am finding a 'fit' for him. My opponents may not agree but I am feeling he is now carrying a more understated threat.

2) LotF - took a while and I am certainly no expert with him, but he is starting to become a) very enjoyable to play and b) in gameplay he can be truly terrifying at times.

3) Warpwolves - Love 'em, 'nuff said.

4) pBaldur - although I like the whole Wold theme, taking him with the living beasts is immense fun as well.

These 25pt lists and games are really starting to help me feel that the list is starting to gel together, 35pts is more tricky as I like the Druids yet also feel they are a pretty expensive unit. Nyss hunters are appealing

An absolutely stunning job on the Druids Tom. Hopefully I can do the force justice on the TT (better work out how to get the best from the hooded folk first I suppose :lots of love: ).

The Circle will be taking up arms again shortly, and with 3 warlocks fully painted (pBaldur, eKrueger and pKaya) the choice of who to take has become just that more difficult.

It's been a break of almost 18 months since my last game of Warmahordes, but last night saw the Circle once again take to the TT. In a 4-wayer that included Matt (Trolls), Munson (Cygnar) and Tom (Khador), the splendid Battlefield Hobbies was the venue as pBaldur and his awesome beard prepared to cause mayhem. Sadly, eCaine shot him full of holes quite early on and that was that, oh well, I was bound to be a tad rusty :D .

Anyway, the highlights were:

Great venue, really impressed and looking forward to more gaming nonsense at BH.

Playing Warmahordes again, you have gotta love the hippies.

And catching up with a lot of the regular bunch after the Christmas break.

Circle updates as they happen.

Was well good fun!

PS You forgot to mention how awesome Sorscha was - smashed the Trolls, wrecked Caine and would've taken out the beardy tree hugger (if he wasn't already looking like a sieve!)

Sorscha does seem to be the Warcaster that the Trollkin are struggling against Tom, but I doubt she'll trouble the Circle.

Wednesday was once again Warmahordes day as I played a 35pts game down Battlefield Hobbies verses Matt While.

My list.

pBaldur

Woldwarden
Woldguardian
Stalker

Druids
WoldStalkers

Matt took Calandra Truthsayer and what looked like a lot of very big trolls!

The idea was to gain control points by either controlling or dominating two circular areas in the centre of the board (apparently this is a scenario, but for the life of me I cant remember what its called, Mephiston did mention something about 'Steamroller' but I was having a hard enough time remembering what my stuff did tbh  ).

Anyhows, I lost the mission by 2pts - 5pts, my hesitancy was fatal as Matt romped into a 2-0 lead and never looked back. But as an overall learning curve it had a lot of plus points -

Firstly, reading the rulebook helps rather than just looking at the pictures. The turns were a lot smoother than I remembered them being before and actually studying what your models do, rather than making it up, does improve the gaming experience.

As for the list, it went something like this:

pBaldur, still awesome and now that I'm playing the rules better and have leant his spells, feat etc he is even better than before.

Woldwarden. An excellent heavy although I'm sure most (good) Warmahordes players out there will be screaming at me to take Megalith.

Woldguardian is the business, I will always take this model.

The Stalker was let down by my poor dice throwing but would probably have hurt Matt a lot more in the same circumstances just with better rolls.

Druids. Hallelujah! I am starting to see what all the fuss is about, slowly (very), getting the point of these guys.

WoldStalkers. Don't get these guys at all, any pointers would be greatly appreciated :lots of love: .

I'm sure if Matt gets a moment he will put his list up on here so you can see what kicked my a**e.

Have Matt again this Wednesday and I'm pretty certain he will no doubt swap caster (it's Matt after all).

I'm thinking of taking the same list with the exception of dropping the Woldstalkers and adding in the Lord Of The Feast plus the UA attachment for the Druids.

Purely to promote some form of chatter and discussion on here I would be interested to here players opinions on the changes to my list, if they so wish to contribute.
