I have been distracted recently, but thought
I would do a quick post about the few games thar I had with pirates.

I don't recall specific games, it was all a bit of a blue of organising, rules questions and playing!

To summarise pirates up in one word.....complex.

The thing is, when you are pushing around 40 odd models it's very easy to get everything all clogged up.

Then, in that massive cluster of troops you have to try and remember to put your 6 really important solos in a place that won't get them killed but will benefit all of the troopers.

I have a lot of learning to do.

Right! I'm playing Gazza on Wednesday so thought I would talk a little about how my pre game works.

My list is this;

Captain Allister Caine +5 points
* Ol' Rowdy 9 points
* Squire 2 points

Journeyman Warcaster 3 points

10 Nyss Hunters 10 points
Rangers 5 points
Reinholdt, Gobber Speculator 1 point

We are playing 25 points, which isn't really a size I play very often so I really just thought the best plan was to try and cover the basics.

Here is a summary of why I put everything in the list.

Captain Allister Caine

He's cool, exciting to play and he has two magic revolvers!

Caine likes to keep all of his focus, so that's a primary concern when making a list for him.

* Ol' Rowdy

He has hyper aggressive which makes him more focus efficient. He hits hard and can knock stuff down which is very handy.

* Squire

Gives Caine extra focus, focus buys me more shots.

Journeyman Warcaster

+3 armour from arcane shield is great. Helps keep something important alive.

10 Nyss Hunters

Nyss hunters are great- they have hunter which ignores forests (handy when playing circle)

They are reliable at both ranged attacks and melee.

Their high defence can be improved more by one of caines spells.

Rangers

Rangers have decent guns, shoot well and can give other friendly stuff +2 to hit if nearby.

With a ranger near something important (your caster) Caine is effective RAT 11 or RAT 13 if I'm aiming.

Reinholdt, Gobber Speculator

Gives me another shot. I like shooting.

When playing Baldur, the first priority is to kill the things the circle player has that can create forests. This will effectively stop the assassination run where Baldur teleports to a forest and stabs you lots.

Interesting list. Am really looking forward to seeing what the Nyss hunters can do, have been quite tempted to try them myself.

I have decided a list for mk...

Captain Allister Caine +5 points
* Ol' Rowdy 9 points
* Squire 2 points

Black 13th Gun Mage Strike Team 4 points
10 Greygore Boomhowler and Company 9 points
10 Horgenhold Forge Guard 8 points
Rangers 5 points
Reinholdt, Gobber Speculator 1 point
Rhupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord 2 points

Standard epic Caine stuff that I have spoke about before!

I wanna be fully painted for the 16th so I still have a few bits to so;

Rangers
Ol rowdy
Black 13th

Even I can manage that!

I could have gone gamey and played epic Haley and a stormwall but it's just not fun!

I wanna play a magical cowboy and love or die on his crazy assassination runs

Today was a great day, but it showed that I do not play enough games.

For 2014 I need to knuckle down and learn two casters.

They are..............

Image

Sturgis- he isn't released yet, is due Q1 2014 and looks way cool. Wanna get a head start.

Image

Haley2- she is just too filthy good to ignore.

More to come:)

There isn't really a place to put this, and it may sound a bit soppy and dumb...

I just wanted to say I'm well proud of you lot today and I had an absolute blast. I hope we can do it again many more time.

Well done to you all, I'm proud for you to be my warmachine homies.
