I see... how much longet does season 2 have to run?

As I don't know much about the encounters format, what options are there to play catch up (ie, 2 encounters in an evening rather than one?)

Season 3 is Essentials isn't it?

Will that mean that we will need an essentials character to join in?

A group decision this evening decided to can the balace of season 2 (they were about 7 sessions behind, for a number of reasons) and leap straight into season 3. We normally play two sessions every other week.

Yes, it is Essentials, but I've chosen not to enforce that. Essentials characters are preferred, but not (er) essential. So, any first level character (other than Dark Sun based ones) will do. Have you seen that then pregenerated characters for the season are available through the Wizards communities?

Haven't looked at them yet, but have seen that they are available...

I don't need to know in advance, I just have to roll with what-ever turns up. As to what we've got, I don't actually know. We used the pre-gens last night, and individuals hadn't decided whether they were going to stay with them or create their own before next time.

Will probably try out an essentials character build.... likely a thief or Assassin (using the Dragon article)

Gone with a human Assassin (using the dragon article for the Essentials build) all feats etc taken from the Heroes of the Fallen Lands book.
