Ok so heres a long awaited up date. I did this phase a long time ago hopefully I can remember what I did. The model is still at this stage with hope of continuing in the near future.

Spots

Ok I used a terracotta brown colour (I can't remember the colour exactly and looks like I must have used it up) to do spots on the body area of the wolf keep the sizes and spaces random (I was not happy with mine its not random enough). I then proceeded to do horse shoe shaped lines of black around each of the dots, its made a nice effect but not very leopard skin like which was my aim (a lesson learn't to try next time).

Image

Head gear and ankle bracers base colours.

Not clear on the photo (i will try to supply a better one ) I used tin bitz as a base colour painting it in to the lower areas then adding Burnished gold slowly highlighted up (again I wish I had used Shimimh gold for this but believe I had run out and tried burnished) I then went over the raised pattern with black to pick it out ready for the next stages of paint.

That n really starting to look good now!

Is the plan to do all the wolves in the same pattern or are you intending on mixing it up for the different 'breeds' of wolves?

I think it might be interesting to have various different fur types.

Perhaps a white leopard style wolf, maybe even a tiger striped wolf?

Might look a bit too much though, but you know much more than me!

I'm doing the force as a challenging piece so i think i would sooner do that than repeat myself. I may white tiger stripe the pureblood.

Tbh, it probably is the best time to get them on a gaming table near you mate. The WM/H scene seems to have a fair bit of push behind it at the moment (even Sparkles has played a game :lots of love: , and he's stuff looked superb btw) as a lot of people seem to be taking there factions up in anger. As for your painting scheme, a subtle variation on the big cat theme is a great idea and from a personal point of view a Snow Leopard scheme on a larger wolf would be fantastic (i'm going to go all David Attenborough on you, but it probably has the most stunning markings of all the big cats, and I include the Tiger in that as well).

Couldn't agree more!

More than happy to run you through a game dude. If Gazza can get it, anyone can!
