lots of love yeah I could, any real reason why I should or need to? I could put ever model on a crazy base ...but why? I do different bases on all my armies and i started doing the bases this way so have continued.

Just my opinion that better bases would make the models look even better. You could then add some movement trays to match and you would then officially have joined the 21st century.

Yeah, I must admit that I'm not a fan of base edges any other colour than black. To me they are like the picture frame

I may, I may not. I fully realise the look is dated, its how I started basing them so it has continued, I see it as a waste of time tbh, I could do another unit or change the bases I know what I'd sooner spend my time doing as other photos have shown its not beyond my ability. I'm sure its better to lose interest in 30 seconds and do nothing thus rendering all my endeavours to pointless talk, but I don't do that either. Movement trays are an obvious addition which I already had planned in fact I removed the models form the trays for the photos. If you want to post examples of bases you'd much prefer please put some up and I'll happily see if i can match it.

I second Jack's sentiment... Absolutely lovely looking army! Real nostalgia trip for all us 'oldies' :D

That is nostalgia-tastic, love it. The bases work for this feel of army. I'll certainly never rebase anything, bad enough doing it once!

The bottom seems to have fallen out of this due to my opponent losing interest, is anyone else interested in this campaign there are a few army choices, Dark elves are the obvious one but you may play as Lizardmen or Empire instead. I am still painting for it in hope that enthusiasm returns.

Do you have an army list of whats required for dark elves? (I assume you're sticking to the original lists?) we're restarting WFB anyways and I'd be interested how far from a full army I was with my current collection of darkies

I built around the play test armies but its not set. You have limitations though. Do you want me to post what you can choose from or what they took? Every battle or minimum models needed (based on what they took). I can post up the campaign so you can play it with a friend it should easily work in 8th ed as well as 4th/5th.

What was you building for?

Post that, I'm interested in knowing how far I am away from that. i'll not commit to anything until ive played some fantasy again and see if I re-find the love. but I'm certainly interested.

As per the first post I was building to play 2karl as had been planned for years, he (as always) has fallen off the radar it was based around 4th/5th ed rules as we have all the rules for that and its the set the original campaign box was set in .
I will post what the minimum models you need to complete the campaign with the forces they took, its the easiest comparision I think.
